After 18 years in the hands of Nicky and Paul King, The Eastbury Hotel will be under new ownership from mid February 2018.
With a long list of awards, accolades, personal achievements and successes The Eastbury is one of the most loved hotels in Dorset having been the place where thousands of couples have celebrated their weddings.
“Of course we are very sad to say goodbye after such a wonderful time at the helm of The Eastbury but we know that we have been custodians and that the Hotel will continue to thrive and prosper under its new ownership. Paul and I have set out to create a warm, happy and welcoming boutique style of Hotel which respected the history of the building- a kind of country house style but never without a touch of glamour and humour. Of the many highlights we will remember are the opening of the new wing on a sunny day with our friends around us, winning the very top awards from Taste of the West, Dorset Tourism and South West Tourism, plus and this is the crucial part of running a Hotel- building a team of people who every day looked after our guests as we would want to be looked after”, said Nicky King.
Nicky and Paul will still own and manage The Three Wishes in Cheap Street. “Sherborne is our home and we have wonderful friends here. Our plans are to take some time to think about the next steps for us as a family. We would like to thank the support of all the fellow businesses in Sherborne, our wonderful local suppliers, the Sherborne Tourism Forum, Probus and Rotary clubs and everyone that has allowed us to host their special and significant events over the last 18 years. ” said Nicky King.
“We are delighted and fortunate to have found the most experienced and appropriate new owners for The Eastbury. Peter and Lana de Savary have over 40 years experience in owning and operating many lovely hotels and clubs internationally including Skibo Castle in Scotland and The Cary Arms in Devon. We believe they bring new and appropriate opportunities for the Hotel, its staff and most importantly the many loyal customers of The Eastbury,” said Paul King.
