Sherborne parents will soon have a new place on the high street where they can chill out and let their kids play.
Local mothers Ally Baker and Naomi Harvey are setting up the Doodles Play Cafe just off Cheap Street.
The business, located at 1 Abbey Road near the NatWest branch, will provide a “relaxed and comfortable atmosphere” where parents can enjoy good food while their children can enjoy playing and dressing up.
Ms Baker said: “Doodles will be aimed at families. We wanted to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for people to come with children, but still get great quality food and coffee.
“There will be a lovely play area for the children which includes a castle play house, role play kitchen and dressing up costumes to name a few. For the older ones, there will also be drawing and a selection of board games.”
The business, which is registered in Milborne Port, will use ingredients sourced from other Sherborne businesses, including bread from Oxfords Bakery, meat from Parsons Butchers and coffee from Reeds Coffee.
Ms Baker added: “We are local mums that saw the need for something like this in Sherborne, as at the moment there is nothing like this in the immediate area.
“We are aiming to open at the beginning of November.”
