From 1 April 2019 two new unitary councils – Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council – will replace the current two borough, one county, four district and two unitary councils in Dorset, reducing duplication and improving efficiency to safeguard frontline services. This means that businesses in East Dorset, North Dorset, Purbeck, West Dorset and Weymouth & Portland will be served by Dorset Council.
- Are you wondering what the financial landscape for Dorset Council is in the medium term and the impact the new Dorset Council will have on your business?
- Do you want to find out how Dorset Council is planning to allocate its budget and achieve savings for 2019/20?
- Do you have questions about the future of business rates in Dorset?
We’d love you to come along to the first Shaping Dorset Council business breakfast to meet Matt Prosser (the new council’s Chief Executive) and Jason Vaughan (the interim Finance Director). There’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to chat to Matt and Jason, get your questions answered and extend your business network.
You are welcome at South Walks House, Dorchester, from 8.00am where bacon rolls, croissants and coffee will be available and we’ll start the session at 8.20am with a keynote speech from Matt.
