Muntanya is an independent walking and trekking shop in Sherborne, selling clothing and equipment from major suppliers to equip walkers with some of the best gear available. The shop is designed around walking and trekking, where everything is designed to be as light as possible from manufacturers using the latest sustainable and technical products.

With an emphasis on customer service, new brands are being added all the time and if we don’t have what you’re looking for, we’ll try our hardest to get it for you. Walking groups are welcome as well as Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and can get a 10% discount on all purchases.

Clothing brands include Montane, Rab, Keela, Buff, Mountain Hardwear, Bridgedale and Stance. Walking boots from AKU and shoes from ASOLO and all those little things to make the longest, hardest hike more comfortable such as insect repellents, towels, cutlery, and flasks to first aid kits come from Lifeventure and Lifesystems. We have a selection of packs and bags from Montane and Lowe Alpine and for when you’re out overnight there’s dehydrated and boil in the bag food from Expedition Foods and Wayfayrer as well as a range of drinking bottles, flasks and water purification. Grangers have an excellent range of cleaning and re-proofing products to make sure your jackets and boots are well looked after. For Man’s best friend there are collars, leads, harnesses, throw toys and first aid kits.

Advice is available on anything trekking from finding a local walking group or route to map reading advice, navigation, and expedition planning. We can even arrange to have your old broken gear sent away to be repaired. Boots and shoes can be re-soled and rucksacks re-stitched.
