Coronation celebrations a triumph in Sherborne’s Pageant Gardens

Sherborne recently came together in celebration of the Kings Coronation held in Pageant Gardens, thanks to the joint efforts of the Town Council, the Sherborne Chamber of Commerce, and the Sherborne Summer Festival team put together entertainment across the weekend for all ages, which included live music, children’s entertainers, stalls, food and drink and finished with a computerised laser show.

The event, which featured free entry for all, was meticulously organized to ensure a joyous experience for the whole family. Sherborne's own GSL Events of Thornford lent their expertise in sound and lighting, mesmerizing the audience with an extraordinary audiovisual spectacle. Meanwhile, the Events Crew of Henstridge, known for their exceptional service, provided top-notch infrastructure support, including fencing, generators, and lighting, all of which met their impeccable standards.

Months of careful planning paved the way for this two-day extravaganza, made even more special by its alignment with the Coronation date. Building on the success of last year's Jubilee concert, the Sherborne Summer Festival members brought their wealth of experience to the table, ensuring every aspect of the event was executed perfectly.

The choice of Pageant Gardens as the venue held a dual purpose: not only did it provide a stunning backdrop, but it also offered a restored bandstand, serving as a natural stage for the performers.

The Sherborne Chamber of Commerce, the Sherborne Summer Festival team, and the Sherborne Town Council played pivotal roles in bringing this celebration to fruition. Their unwavering support and collaborative spirit provided the necessary foundation for success. The local community also played a crucial part, as the event drew large crowds who reveled in the festivities and joined forces to ensure a swift and thorough cleanup once the event concluded.

Taff Martin, a key organizer, Chamber Chair and spokesperson for the event, expressed his gratitude to the residents of Sherborne for their enthusiastic participation. Their presence not only added to the vibrant atmosphere but also demonstrated the collective pride in the town. The event showcased the remarkable unity and commitment of Sherborne's community, leaving a lasting impression on all those who attended.

With the triumph of this weekend celebration still fresh in everyone's minds, Sherborne looks forward to an exciting lineup of future events. Plans commerce for Sherborne’s Festive Shopping Day ,one of Sherborne’s Busiest Shopping Days of the year!
